Björn Persson is based in Stockholm, Sweden. Björn is committed to documenting and raising awareness to the threatened species. He trained in field care and worked with an anti-poaching organisation in South Africa.
Rather than tell the story of Africa’s threatened wildlife through a documentary approach showing the plight of the animals, Persson prefers to encourage support through creating magestic imagery. His work seeks to capture the individuality and personalities of the wildlife that he photographs. He sees this positve approach as a stronger way of inspiring and engaging support from the public.
Persson uses his camera as a weapon and against wildlife poaching, and continues to donate towards wildlife conservation.
Recently he released his new photography book The Real Owners of the Planet, which celebrates the beauty of the African wildlife. It’s the first in a series that will cover the endangered species of every continent in the world.
Persson is also the founder of Here Forever Foundation which aims to raise funds and awareness towards wildlife conservation in Africa.
